DAY 16 - WAIT!

I want to share a testimony that blessed me.

Hello friends!! Hope you are doing well---and isn’t it great to know we are heading down the home stretch. I want to pass along a word that has been heavy on me during pretty much every fast I have done each January. That word is “WAIT”. Now I know that may not be the word you want to hear right now---but believe me when I tell you---it is the right word for this season you are in. Let me explain.

Right about now, some of you are just itching to get out there and go for it. But I truly believe that might be a mistake. The third year that I participated in this fast, I was in the middle of the writing process for my first book, Next Level Living. The research had been done---the thoughts were fresh---and I had everything set up to go, go, go!! On top of that, I had a February 28th deadline to get the manuscript in. So there I was, the first week of the fast was over---and I was ready in every way. Then came that word from the Lord---WAIT. In my spirit I know I heard the Lord tell me, “Do not write one word until this fast is over.” WOW!!! That was the LAST thing I wanted to hear. But, wait I did…and let me tell you, it was hard. But what it caused me to do over the next two weeks was to place my entire focus on Him. JUST Him.

Isn’t it funny how much we think our success or failure depends on US? Fact is, in ALL things---even writing a book, the timeless principle holds true---it is, “NOT by might and NOT by power…but by my Spirit says the Lord.” Oh, I could have written MY best---but the words that flew from my fingertips and onto that computer after the fast was over were not my own. And the success of the book, and the testimonies that have been given to me speak for itself. The things that happened that February---and the timing of some of the truths that ended up in the book, could not have happened had it been written one minute sooner.

Read Psalm 27:14---God is always working and moving on our behalf even when you don’t see it. And in this season---just know He is preparing the way for you---and that Sunday the 31st will be here before you know it. But for now---just for the ever so brief few days you have left on this fast---wait on Him---watch for Him---listen for Him---and draw near as never before. And don’t move out even one minute early. Focus is everything right now---place yours squarely into His perfect gaze---He has a few things left to say to you---to do in you---before you move out into all He has for you in 2010---the year of New Beginnings!!!
